Blues In The Schools ( BITS )

The season of 2019-2020 was my 22nd year with the BITS program. I was honored to play a part in helping these young musicians realize their musical dreams. I know what music has meant to me & the thought that I helped someone else, in some small way, is just wonderful !!!

Basically, we do presentations to give some historical context to the American musical art form known as the Blues, & to let you know we are here. This is offered free of charge to any of our tri-state’s schools. (  we also offer presentations to libraries, recreation centers, Senior centers, etc. ) Donations are always appreciated, though not required, & accepted when it seems feasible.

When you have  bit of time, visit the BITS page on Facebook & check out some pictures & videos. It's also a good way to stay informed about any events that you may want to attend.

Students interested in participating in the BITS program just need to contact the Cincy Blues Society at:  bits@cincyblues.org  They will be informed when & where rehearsals for the Cincy Blues Society's annual summer Blues Fest will be held. The rehearsals occur in the 2 months prior to the Festival. If you make more rehearsals than you miss, you will be on stage for the summer Fest. As the season progresses, there are several events that occur on an annual basis.

Any tri-state schools, libraries, recreation centers, Senior centers, etc., desiring a presentation should contact the Cincy Blues Society at:  bits@cincyblues.org
